Apple Cinnamon Tea

A simple, naturally sweet tea made by simmering apple slices with a cinnamon stick.
Cook Time 15 minutes
Steep 5 minutes
Servings: 4 cups (250 mL each)

Ingredients

  • 1 apple thinly sliced, seeds removed
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 liter water
  • honey or a squeeze of lemon optional

Method

  1. Put the apple slices and cinnamon stick in a pot with the water.
  2. Bring to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer for 10–15 minutes.
  3. Turn off the heat and let it steep for another 5 minutes.
  4. Strain and drink warm, or chill it for an iced version. Keep in the fridge for up to 2 days.

Notes

Tip: eat the softened apple slices with yogurt or oatmeal so the fruit doesn’t go to waste.
